Additive manufacturing / 3D Printing throws open newer possibilities for reproducing complex designs in to real objects. Though originally started for prototyping applications, Additive manufacturing has come a long way since then. It plays a key role in robust product development, as the prototype is made directly from CAD thus making possible the Form, Fit and Functional checks at the early stage of design cycle. In addition to prototyping, Additive manufacturing is used in manufacturing of actual components required in small quantities as well as producing jigs & fixtures and tooling. Medical and dental professions employ additive manufacturing to a large extent for implants, bridges, etc.,
Today Additive Manufacturing is a promising manufacturing alternative that accelerates production and reduces costs while creating new possibilities and new business models. Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organizing a 2 days programme on Additive manufacturing / 3D Printing Technologies on 22 - 23 December 2016. This programme will provide an in depth understanding of Additive manufacturing types, applications, advantages and limitations. A visit to additive manufacturing facility would be organized to look at the actual equipment and process.
*Note: Factory visit of participants will be subject to the approval of the hosting industry

The need for Productivity Institute
Realizing the need to enhance the skill sets of fresh engineers in mechanical engineering to make "Industry Employable" and to mould them as per the company requirements, IMTMA organizes
The rapid growth of Indian machine tool Industry and the increasing sophistication of machine tool has created the need for a new breed of machine tool technologists.
